STEVINSON – Matt Cohn of San Francisco won amateurgolf.com’s California Mid-Am and Master with a 36-hole score of 146. He was five shots better than current NCGA points leader and six-time NCGA Player of the Year Randy Haag, who finished alone in second at 151. Finishing in a tie for third were Monterey’s Adam Petrocelli and Ricky Stockton of Salinas at 152.
In the senior division Casey Boyns made up some ground on Jim Knoll in the Senior Player of the Year race by shooting a two-day total of 148. However, he didn’t make up as much as he would like as Knoll finished second in the tournament at 151. The two currently sit atop one-two on the senior points list. In third was senior rookie Terry Foreman of Antioch who finished at 152.
