Roddy Ranch Player Information Pairings/Results May 18, 2015 Fifteen players earned spots into this year’s NCGA Master Division Championship after advancing through an 18-hole qualifier held last Friday at The Golf Club at Roddy Ranch in Antioch. Leading the field was Granite Bay Golf Club member Gary Deblaquiere, who got around the course with a medalist-earning 2-under par 70. Deblaquiere, who competed in the recent U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship, had four birdies and a double-bogey. Finishing tied for second was a group of four players–David Larosa of eClub East Bay, Scott Anderson of Roddy Ranch, Michael Wishart of Peninsula G&CC and Dale Bouguennec of Contra Costa CC. Player Information Sheet Pairings / Results Course Yardages September 21, 2015 Ten players are headed to this year’s California Senior Amateur Championship after advancing through an 18-hole qualifier held Monday at par-70 Carmel Valley Ranch. Leading the way was medalist Ray Kong of San Jose,who posted a wild even-par 70 that featured seven birdies and seven bogeys. All four of Kong’s pars came on the front-nine. Placing second at 72 was Craig Ling of Monterey. Player Information Sheet Pairings / Results Yardages May 11, 2015 Three players are headed to this year’s California Amateur Championship after earning spots in a qualifier held Monday at par-71 Butte Creek Golf Club. Leading the way was Michael Brockington of Laguna Niguel. The SCGA member posted a 4-under 67 that included five birdies and a bogey. Finishing in second was Chico’s Jeff Fowler, who shot a 72 that featured two birdies and three bogeys. The final spot came down to a playoff between four players who came in with matching 73’s. Player Information Pairings/Results Yardage September 14, 2015 2012 NCGA Amateur Match Play Championship winner Jake Yount is headed to┬áthis year’s U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship. Yount was one of four players advancing through a U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship qualifier held Monday at par-72 Castlewood CC in Pleasanton after posting a medalist-earning 68. Included in Yount’s round was an ace on the par-3 123-yard 14th hole. He also had a bogey and three birdies. Earlier this year, Yount, who hails from Danville, competed in the inaugural U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship with partner Tim Mickelson. Finishing second with a 69 was Aleksei Koika of Burlingame. The final two automatic spots came down to a playoff between five players who came in with matching scores of 72. Jason Anthony, the runner-up in last year’s NCGA Player of the Year race, and veteran Jeff Wilson of Fairfield claimed the final two spots after winning the playoff. Wilson competed in this year’s U.S. Senior Open at Del Paso CC. The first alternate spot went to Roseville’s Matt Anderson. The second alternate spot went to San Diego’s Jason Meijers.
