PLEASANTON – Jonny Baxter won the 2013 Pleasanton City Amateur Championship, thanks to posting the only under-par 36-hole score of the tournament. Baxter finished the two-day event with a score of 143, one-under-par by opening with a 73 on the first round and closing with a 70 in the final round.

Right behind Baxter and tied for second place was Ryan Maund and Paul Smith at even-par 144. Maund went low in his final round with a three-under-par 69 after a first round of 75. Smith, the first-round leader after opening with a 71, posted a 73 in the final round. Alone in fourth place at 145 one-over-par was Andrew Johnson, who had rounds of 73 and 72. Rounding out the top-five and alone in fifth place at 146, two-over-par was Scott Terry with scores of 74 and 72.

In the senior division Scott Anderson took a three-shot victory, which was buoyed by a spectacular first round. Finishing at 145 one-over-par, Anderson took a five-shot lead after the first round with a three-under-par 69, and then followed it up with a final round 76. Alone in second place at 148, four-over-par was Bob Fulton, who posted back-to-back 74s. Jim Simpson earned third place with a 149 (74-75), David Yip took fourth place with a 153 (76-77) and Ray Kong finished fifth at 154 (79-75).
