SACRAMENTO – Jim Knoll stretched his lead out in the NCGA Senior Player of the Year race even further with his latest win in the 200-point Sacramento City Senior Championship at Bing Maloney GC. Knoll fired a 36-hole score of 137 seven-under-par to win the event by two strokes and successfully defend his title.

In second place at 139 five-under-par was Mark Miller, while alone in third at 141 three-under-par was Terry Foreman. Tied for fourth place at 143 one-under-par were Dave Baskins, Doug Johnson and Mike Reuther. Peter Hackett was alone in seventh place at 144 even par, while tied for eighth place were Dennis Dachtler and Michael Wiechers at 145, one-over-par.  Rounding out the top-10 in a tie for 10th place at 146, two-over-par was Craig Gandy and Greg O’Malley.

The Super Senior division needed a sudden-death playoff to decide its winner as Bob Olds beat out Rob Thompson. Both players finished 36 holes with a score of 146 two-over-par. In third place was Gene Ackerman at 147 three-over-par, while tied for fourth place were Franklin Burkhead and Terry Coffee at 148 four-over-par.
