WATSONVILLE – Sean Etow went wire to wire to win the 13th Annual Apple City Amateur Champaionship at Pajaro Valley GC and Spring Hills GC. Etow, who opened up with an even-par 72 at Pajaro Valley GC on Saturday closed with a two-over par 73 on Sunday to finish at 145, seven shots ahead of the nearest competition. At the 36-hole score of 152 , nine-over par were four players tied for second, Sergio Sanchez, Kyle Davis, Josh Johnson and Ben Peters. Sanchez and Johnson matched each other on both days opening with a 78 and closing with a 74, while Davis went 77-75 and Peters had back-to-back 76s.

In the senior division, Jim Knoll earned a four-shot victory finishing 36 holes at even-par 143. Knoll cushioned his lead after an opening round of four-under par 68 at Pajaro Valley GC, which allowed him to put it in cruise control for a final round four-over par 75. In second place was Frank Pieper at 147, posting rounds of 74 and 73. One shot back at 148 and alone in third was Ken Noonan, who fired rounds of 76 and 72. Mark Miller took solo fourth at 150 with consecutive rounds of 75, while alone in fifth at 151 was Neil Duffy with rounds of 76 and 75.
