Poplar Creek GC
February 16-17, 2013

SAN MATEO – Heavy rains didn’t prevent the San Mateo County Championship from occurring this time at Poplar Creek GC. After being delayed due to inclement weather in mid-December, the tournament had a nice showing of players for the rescheduled February date.

Ryan Sloane, a former two-time NCGA Four-Ball Champion, claimed the title going away winning by a margin of six strokes. Sloane posted rounds of 62 and 67 at the par-70 to finish 36 holes at 11-under par 129. Finishing in a tie for second place were Shintaro Ban and Ryan Knop, who posted 36-hole scores of 135. Ban fired rounds of 65 and 70, while Knop had rounds of 67 and 68. Joseph Yagmouria finished alone in fourth at 139 with rounds of 66 and 73, while Andrew Tilton and Nick Ushijima shared fifth place with a 36-hole total of 141.
