SALINAS – Ian Dahl fired a two-day total of nine-under par 133 at Salinas Fairways GC to win the 2012 Salinas Valley Amateur. Dahl’s score was four strokes better than tournament runner-up Andrew Rodriguez, who posted a 36-hole score 137, seven-under par. In third place at 138, four-under par was Michael Decker, while fourth place went to Bret Wagar at even-par 142. Luke Vivolo and Josh Johnson finished tied for fifth at 143, one-over par.

Jim Knoll successfully defended his title in the senior division, but needed a playoff in order to do so. Knoll finished 36 holes at 141, one-under par along with Mark Miller. Coming up short of making it a three-man playoff was Rich Gleghorn, who finished in third at 142. Greg Saiki took fourth place at 143, while Ken Noonan finished alone in fifth at 144.
