CARMICHAEL – David Baskins of Sacramento cruised to a five-stroke victory at the 38th Sacramento County Senior Championship with a 36-hole score of 138. Jim Knoll continued to rack up points in the Senior Player of the Year race with his second place finish at the event, shooting a two-day total of 143. Olympic Club member Gary Vanier finished alone in third at a level-par 36-hole score of 144. Rob Adolph of Fresno finished alone in fourth with a score of 145, while Scott Anderson and Jim Duncan round out the top five as the two tied for fifth place with scores of 146.

In the Super Senior Championship Don Bowen beat Gary Guinn on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff to win the third ever title. The two competitors finished 36 holes of play tied with scores of 148. Bob Olds of Roddy Ranch GC finished alone in third with a score of 150. Tom Leweandowski took fourth place with a score of 151, while there was a three-way tie for fifth place at 152. Those players include Carl Selkirk, Jim Welsh and David Ellis.
