OLIVEHURST – Wes Leith won his first tournament of the 2012 season at the Plumas Lake Amateur. The Davis resident beat Roseville’s Tanner Makimoto and Vincent Venard of Sacramento in a playoff after all three competitors finished 36 holes tied at an even par score of 142. Finishing in a tie for fourth place were Chico’s Matt Williams and Jeff Hoffman of Folsom at 2-over par 144.

In the senior division, Danville’s Peter Moren won his third outright title of the 2012 season with a 36-hole score of 152. With the victory Moren currently jumps into the top 10 on the NCGA Senior Player of the Year race. Dennis Dugan of Elk Grove finished second, posting a two-day total of 155. Gerry Valentini of Sacramento made his 2012 debut on the senior points list by finishing in third place with a score of 157. Super senior Ronald Wiley finished fourth firing a 36-hole score of 159, while Wade Nonnenberg finished fifth posting a 161.
