LIVERMORE – The Campbell GC team of Gene Aso and Anthony Pavone came from one stroke back to force a playoff and capture the NCGA Senior Four-Ball Net Championship at Poppy Ridge.

Aso and Pavone fired a 12-under net 60 to pair with their opening round 59 for a net 119.  The back nine was particularly kind to the duo in both rounds, having two eagles in a row on the first day and 11 birdies overall.

Campbell tied with the Del Rio GCC team of Tom Solomon and Tim Speer, who led after the opening round with a 14-under net 58 and posted an 11-under 61 for the day.  Aso and Pavone birdied the one-hole playoff to take home the title.

Brookside GC, Sunrise GC and Leisure Tour GC tied for third, seven strokes behind the champions.

The event is for NCGA members 55 and older and was played at 90% of the competitors’ handicaps for men, 95 % for women.
